As Commissioner, Marc has made needed changes in local Government!
|
Standing Strong on the Issues
Growth ManagementMarc has worked successfully across the aisle with Commissioners Betty Sue Morris and Steve Stuart to create a realistic growth plan for Clark County. With Marc’s common sense approach to growth management, the county will be able manage the rapid growth facing Southwest Washington and adequately plan for transportation and utilities infrastructure so we never compromise our quality of life.
Economic DevelopmentThe best way to promote economic growth is to create an environment that attracts business. Marc has lead the charge in county government to eliminate over-regulation and unnecessary fees that take away from economic stability and growth. Marc understands it is the County Commissioners’ job to promote the local economy, not to artificially restrict it.
Fiscal ManagementMarc has consistently demonstrated fiscal restraint with the County budget. For the past four years, Marc has held County Departments accountable for their spending. Fees collected must be used relevant to what they are collected for. Marc will continue to ensure all county expenditures bring real value to taxpayers.
TransportationRoads and other means of transportation need to be centered on promoting the local economy and infrastructure. Light Rail is NOT cost effective at this time. We need to focus on making transportation more efficient on this side of the river. Clark County is a wonderful place to live and work and Marc understands that our transportation efforts need to reflect that.
Criminal JusticeOne of Marc’s top priorities is keeping our community safe. Marc has a consistent record supporting law enforcement and for being tough on crime. He sends a loud and clear message that our laws are to be respected. Criminals need to be put behind bars where they belong.
Parks & Outdoor SpaceIn the past 14 years, Marc has worked hard to preserve the environment. His past four years as Clark County Commissioner and his decade long voting record in Olympia are living proof. As a former Clark County farmer, Marc knows first hand about the importance of good stewardship of American soil. As your County Commissioner, he will continue to carry on this effort and promote sustainable growth in the County while using common sense in preserving our open space and maintaining our quality park system. |
